On Thursday, March 22 from 9:30 a.m.-noon UNC Asheville will be hosting a drop-in information meeting for contractors, subcontractors, historically under-utilized businesses, and minority business enterprises interested in bidding on the new multipurpose building associated with the new student housing project. This project will be bid as a single prime contract.
The structure is two-stories totaling approximately 4,124 gross square feet. The building structure will be a combination of a steel frame on concrete foundations, with metal stud infill. Exterior materials will be brick veneer, fiber cement siding, zinc panels, aluminum storefront, and fiberglass windows. The sloped roof section of the building will be finished in a standing seam metal roof. Low-slope roof areas will be PVC membrane roofing. Rooftop mechanical equipment will be screened by a metal louver screen wall.
UNC Asheville's design and construction team will be on hand to share information about the project, assist firms with HUB information, and assist the general contractor with pre-qualification information. The university, through their designer, Hanbury, is currently prequalifying licensed general contractors; the prequalification process closes on April 2, 2018, with a pre-bid meeting anticipated on or around April 23, 2018.
The meeting will be held at:
Overlook Hall, Room 011
300 Field Drive
Asheville, NC 28804
Thursday, March 22, 2018, campus representatives will be available from 9:30 a.m.-noon.
